Energy dense ice cream
At Aabybro Dairy, we are the leaders in producing energy-dense ice cream. The ice cream is developed in collaboration with Danish hospitals and nutrition specialists, and is produced at Aabybro Dairy. The energy-dense ice cream was developed in 2001 in close collaboration with hospitals and the healthcare sector to find the most suitable product, with a strong focus on composition, texture and taste. In 2008, we were recognized by the Danish Academy of Gastronomy for our work with products for small eaters. Our products have also been approved by the Danish Medicines Agency for Green Prescription.

Who is energy dense ice cream for?
The energy-dense ice cream is designed for the nutritional management of disease-related malnutrition. The ice cream is aimed at, for example, people who are in the course of an illness, the elderly with reduced appetite, pregnant women with severe nausea or children and adolescents under the age of 2 who are taking medication that reduces appetite and have problems with involuntary weight loss.
Whatever the reason, we have a wide range of 9 different flavors, so there’s something for everyone. All energy dense ice creams have a great taste and consistency, as well as a central, increased content of protein fat and sugar. In addition, all energy-dense ice creams contain no gelatine and the consistency is a creamy, homogeneous mass. Only purees are used in the ice creams, which means that there are no lumps in the ice cream that can impair or make the taste experience impossible.
The product is not suitable as a sole source of nutrition and should therefore be used as a snack and dessert. The energy-dense ice cream is served in a small, affordable 120 ml cup. The energy-dense ice cream can be used in fruit pulp or drunk with a straw. The only limit is your imagination.
