Since 2016, we’ve been marking this special event that started as an inauguration of our Energy Pillar and has become a beloved tradition in the local community and far beyond.
Why Ice Day?
It all started with our Energy Pillar, an impressive 12.5 ton granite monument from the Northern Cape that symbolizes our belief in justice and the joy of life. The dairy’s victory in a lawsuit over the claims of our energy-rich ice cream was the starting point for this celebration, where we celebrate both our passion for ice cream and our belief in justice every year.
From our humble beginnings with 2000 guests, Ice Cream Days has grown bigger and more popular. Today, we test not only our ice cream machines, but also our staff as we welcome over 8000 guests for a day filled with tastings, activities and fun. With more than 20,000 ice creams in a single day, it’s not only a celebration, but also a test of our production capacity to ensure our ice cream is always ready for the summer season.
Something for everyone
Ice Cream Day offers something for every taste and age. Try our different Ryå ice cream flavors, soft ice cream and sorbets, take a trip on Ryå with Aalborg Outdoor, or enjoy a helicopter ride over the beautiful landscape. You can also visit our classic car garage, explore our old bunker and relax in our lovely cafe garden.
Ice Cream Day is held every year at the beginning of June. The next Ice Cream Day will be held on June 14, 2025 at Aabybro Dairy.
